Valentine’s Day, the holiday that celebrates love, colours the world pink – even in our champagne glasses. No wonder wine connoisseur Alain Boeykens went on a quest to find the best rosé champagne. On Valentine’s Day you could read his findings in Het Nieuwsblad. Romeo & Juliette swipes away the five stars. Alain Boeykens: “Not the most striking bottle, but very charming in its simplicity. The name alone: Romeo & Juliette, referring to the classic love story, speaks to the imagination. What’s in the bottle, is also very interesting: a rosé consisting exclusively of pinot grapes, without any addition of red wine, but bursting with crispy red fruits and fresh acids. Surprisingly dark in colour, and very elegant in nose and mouth, releasing aromas of wild strawberry.”
